Builduing strength through wins and loses.
Today was a kind of frustrating day. I didn’t achieve what I wanted to, but I got to finish building the first prototype of my self-designed tabletop easel. As I tried to assemble it, one piece of wood gave up and I had to do all over again. While doing this, I got frustrated and didn’t pay attention on what I was doing - and cut myself. After that, I allowed myself a break and thought about why this little thing frustrated me. I couldn’t think of a single reason. I am still quite new to this and sometimes things j u s t b r e a k. I sometimes need to tell myself that. And repeat it. And repeat it. And repeat it. Critiquing myself has always been a part of me I couldn’t shut up, no matter how hard I tried. I am working on it, but it still nags on me quite a lot.
Anyway, the break helped me refocus and that let me finish my project. It is still rough on all edges and I need to redraw the plans as it wouldn’t close all the way, but this will be one thing I will try to sell. As it isn’t a piece of furniture and it won’t have to carry a lot of weight, I can even make it out of reclaimed wood/lumber. I will also try to have some fun with colours.
I also received a parking ticket because I forgot about that. Whelp.
